Pattern Play // Palm Leaf

1. zara  top / 2. zara shorts / 3. target bikini / 4. bucketfett x c.wonder shoes / 5. gap top (on sale!) 6. topshop top / 7. anthropologie scarf / 8. dolce vita sandals / 9. topshop crop top / 10. pixie market dress

Ever since purchasing these shorts last week (they're under $20!), my I can get enough palm leaf pattern in my life. I mean honestly, what screams summer more then a piece of clothing that resembles a tree only found in warm climates? Now I just need to coordinate my surroundings to my outfit - only makes sense, right?

Pattern Play // Watercolor

The spring directly following my senior year of college, the first of my seven roommates got married. I remember how new & exciting everything seemed to be - my first close friend to plan a wedding, have bridal & bachelorette parties thrown in her name and walk down the aisle (I cried like a child).

To me, every little detail was thrilling - I wanted to know all that she had planned, and even though it didn't matter in the least, I wanted to find the perfect dress to celebrate the occasion. For her wedding, I ended up finding a dress that reminded me of a watercolor painting - and fell in love immediately. Ever since, I have been a fan of any pattern that resembles the painting technique. I think it's something about the soft lines & the beautiful mixture of color that sucks me right in.

Pattern Play // Valentine's Day

1 / 2 / 3 / 45 / 67 / 8 / 9 / 10 / 11 / 12 / 13 / 14

There's no better time to embrace cheeky, over-the-top-girly prints then Valentine's Day? Whether single or taken, I'd recommend seizing the day and celebrating all the love in your life!

How do you guys celebrate Valentine's Day? Do you celebrate at all?!

Pattern Play // Garden Floral

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8

With the calendar slowly inching towards the possibility of warmer weather and spring collections being released, I have been drawn to prints that remind me of a beautiful English Garden on a warm, sunny day. Of course, I've never been to said English Garden, but it sounds pretty amazing. I mean, throw in a picnic and you probably have the perfect day.

Pattern Play // Tropical

1 / 2 / 3 / 45 / 6 / 7

My bad attitude towards the less then ideal weather here (tomorrow's high: 16 degrees!) has seemingly spilled over into my selection in prints lately. I have been gravitating towards all things bright and tropical ever since spotting these on Zara's website last week. Now I just have to figure out how to find myself in a destination that matches the prints ;)

Pattern Play // Plaid

While out in Nashville this past weekend, I saw a girl (she was probably in her mid-20s, but doesn't woman just sound too old?) who looked she was pulled right from the 90's - crop top, denim shorts, combat boots, and a plaid shirt tied around her waist. At first glance, this may have appeared off but I couldn't help but think she was on to something.

Until recently, I thought plaid was only to be worn as a Christmas pajama pant but now I can't help but think of the versatility - pairing with delicate lace items, sequins and sparkles (especially for the holidays!), and dressing it up with a black blazer and pants.

I'd love to know, what are your thoughts on plaid? Oh and PS - happy fashion week!

Pattern Play // Moody Florals

After seeing this image on Pinterest, I knew I had to get my hands on some good ole fall florals (already snagged this!). For chillier months, I love the idea of rich, moody floral prints - a refreshing take on a popular summer time pattern. To keep it interesting, why not pair with edgy pieces? - I'm thinking a black leather jacket and statement necklace will do just the trick!

Pattern Play // Camo

For reasons I can't explain, I have been channeling my inner hunter lately and can't get enough camo. I recently started my soon to be extensive collection with this shirt, but couldn't wait until it arrived so I borrowed my husband's for a night out with friends.

I'm loving the idea of wearing camo as a neutral, mixing it with florals and stripes, and adding a punch of color or girly details. Anyone as obsessed as I seem to be?
